Baggy trousers !!! they still love a slim pant but are venturing into wide and cropped styles paired with a heel or even flip flops will look fabulous!
So, words to sum up SS18 collection – Pirates, Sailor boys, Peasant, Japanese, Workwear – or as we would prefer ‘glamour workwear’
Staying with their natural colour palette. Mel is not a huge fan of colour – preferring to add it in as an accessory – albeit a scarf, a bag or shoes.... Imagine pirates of the Caribbean meets todays glamour workers. There is smocking introduced in linen styles. Long sleeves and deep cuffs on long silk shirts. Tie your hair back with a bandana and grab a sword !!! Silk jumpsuits with sleeves and without. With pockets and without. Heavy cotton and fluid silk. An absolute staple and a must. Dressed up or down.
Mel loves smocking and has introduced it for SS18 in a very simple understated way. Also featured is a beautiful moss stitch sweater – adding a simple cable down the centre front. Very cool with their nautical striped drop crotch shorts..... just a little nautical! Based in Lorne, Australia it’s hard not to tire of a stripe but bend the rules a little.
There is a hint of the “girl” for SS18, pretty, swing tops with tied backs, beautiful linen dresses with drawstring backs....... Wide, Drawstring trousers crafted in silk – perfection with a pretty top, wide leg, cropped length .......
Stocked in over 120 boutiques throughout Australia and New Zealand, POL continues to grow as a lifestyle brand.
With unique and effortless style the main hallmark of the brand, POL’s pieces have always spoken for themselves.
And we kind of like it that way.
Through conversations with boutique owners and fans of the label, it became clear that there was a gap in the market for everyday clothing that was contemporary, beautiful and original.
An unassuming attitude, a collective approach to design and plenty of hard work allowed POL to grow organically into a complete ready-to-wear collection. By designing pieces that make the wearer feel great everyday, not just on special occasions, POL has created an approachable yet elevated label with a loyal following.
With the majority of pieces made in Australia, seasonal collections are designed with a sense of timelessness that prioritises effortless style over trends. Beautiful and innovative knitwear continues to be at the core of each collection, complimented by a refined selection of fashion and basics in luxurious fabrics.
Today, they combine their skill with our contemporary designs and a twist of alternative UK culture to bring you distinctive, luxurious clogs and a touch of the shoe’s earth origin to our urban jungle.
Sula presents two collections each year. These combine edgy new designs, alongside items that her clients order repeatedly in different colour hues and textiles such as bias-cut camisoles, silk georgette blouses and hand smocked Khadi cotton dresses.
Beyond the social project of manufacturing jewellery in Niger, this work in first permit to create links between cultures, and share common horizons. By this way our universe are melting, Inuit patterns, Japanese, Mexicans, childish stories mixed with chiseling of Tuareg's traditions.
I draw with multiple influences during my trips to build those collections, shapes I give to Tuaregs craftsmen who realise what I dreamed of. Men are hammering precious metals in the forge, Women are embroidering leather pom-poms. In the middle of the Sahara totally new and unique collections are birthing.
Our aim is to put up a smoke screen, not knowing where the jewel come from, let everyone dream his history and by this way mix our knowledge and our dreams. All of this mustn't be ceremonial, jewels don't want to be precious, they are here to move on and evoke us pictures.
